Blue Sky Mission Club releases their highly anticipated new album to eager fans!! Truely, defining Blue Sky Mission Club is.. "Practicing the age old tradition of playing music people want to dance to". Ithaca, New York based Blue Sky Mission Club has been making music under the voice and guidance of founder London McDaniel since 2004. In fact the Bands 2006 CD “Riding the Horizon” is a happy rollicking debut that will undoubtedly get the feet moving. Blue Sky Mission Club just finished a new album, "Middle Of Everywhere", that takes the roots rock vibe to neat places. “Dance With Me Sister” adds horns and a light jazz feel to Lee's lovely vocals. “Down And Out” throbs like a swampy love song as she sings, “You may think I’m Dreaming/But I couldn’t love you any deeper than I do”. And "Run Away Tonight" is a sweet march that strides into a pop-friendly feel.... Get ready to groove with Roots Rock, Zydeco, Soul and The Blues! BSMC is a festival band by nature. As seen at over 200 festivals in the past 4 years, (including The Great Blue Heron, Hickory Fest & Grassroots), BSMC also hosts our own music festival called MUSEFEST. For the past 10 years, Musefest has hosted a 3 day/30+ bands music festival located just outside of Ithaca, NY. The tradition still continues today. "The 18th annual Great Blue Heron Festival was an outstanding platform for the release of Blue Sky Mission Club's highly anticipated new album, "Middle Of Everywhere". Blue Sky Mission Club was proud to perform new and original zydeco/Soulgrass music this year to a legion of new fans and peers at The Great Blue heron Festival. Not only was the release of “Middle Of Everywhere” a success, new songs like “Little Bird“, “How Long” and “Dance With Me Sister” truly grasped the audience with irresistible grooves and blissful harmonies. By the end of the set, Blue Sky Mission Club had truly lived up to there code of honor: "Practicing the age old tradition of playing music people love to dance to" Our audience was thrilled and they wanted more, how could they resist? The icing on the cake had to be the lap steel work of London McDaniel as the crowd raged to Blue Sky Mission Club's foot stomping encore, “Show Your Soul”. - written by Indy Black for Live Music New and Reviews Visit us on Facebook, Myspace, ReverbNation *** ***On Tour Now in support of "Middle Of Everywhere"!! Artist Bio Mark started playing guitar in 1975,by 1978 he was writing his own songs as well as playing many covers in bars and coffee houses in central NY.In 1980 Mark formed an acoustic duo with Jim Prichard, they were called Dark Horse ,they performed together until 1982 when Jim left to form a band.Mark was asked to join the band but declined,so he could keep playing as an acoustic act. Mark plays every Saturday night from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Dominick`s on Rt 20 in Bridgewater NY .If you`re in the area stop in and say hi ,have some dinner or a few drinks. The original music Mark writes, has been described as a mixture of folk/rock/country music not too country (think Neil Young,Tom Petty) I have heard people say his music reminds them of a mix of Beatles/Dylan/Lou Reed/Tom Petty and Neil Young which isn`t too far off the Mark. Mark is in the process of recording a 10 song all acoustic cd with just acoustic guitars and harmonica and vocals. No bass, drums etc.It will hopefully be done by fall .Most of the songs have 2 to 3 acoustic guitar parts .This cd will be totally self produced,so far it is coming along well.
